Donations Into the Community

Over the past few years, we have made substantial donations to the rebuilding of Enselma House and to the Sunnyside Wellness Centre. Our Karlsberghaus festhalle results in generous donations to the charities that help run the hall.

Each and every year we hand out bursaries to graduates in the K/W area.

Over the past 50 years, the club has donated to the community in many ways:

  • Renovated the playroom and supported the Toys & Things Lending library at Sunbeam Home
  • Purchased together with the other clubs in the area, "Kiwanis House", a house on Wilhelm Street to be operated by the House of Friendship for youths 15 to 19 years of age who had been living on the street
  • Contributed a substantial donation to the building of the Chicopee Community Centre
  • Donations to hospitals: K-W Hospital, St. Mary's and Freeport
  • Donations to the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts
  • Donations to the Kitchener Auditorium
...Just to name a few.

Thank you to Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers
and the Kiwanis Club of Twin Cities!

The Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers volunteered for the Kiwanis Club of Twin Cities during the Oktoberfest celebrations in Kitchener in 2010.

To thank the group for its support, the Kiwanis make a generous donation $9,000 to the C.M.C.'s charity of choice, Children's Wish. Pictured above are C.M.C. members along with Anne Boehm (holding Roary), chair of the sub-chapter in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.Children's Wish Logo

Thank you to these community groups for supporting the magic of a wish.

Bursary Applications

If you are a Kitchener Waterloo student who is attending an accredited post secondary school and are interested in applying for one of our bursaries, please speak to your principal. All principals are contacted in the spring to submit a set number of applications.

Social Events

Over the years, there have been many different social events held: Valentine's dance, pool party, family picnics, Christmas parties, ladies' nights, theatre parties, trips to Blue Jay's games, mini golf, club anniversary parties.

A big part of the Kiwanis experience is meeting new people and having fun. The conventions held by Kiwanis International and at the District level are another way of meeting more people from around the world.
